Spinning Headphones

A looping product animation focused on clean motion, lighting, and presenting a simple object with a polished feel.

Overview

This project was about refining motion and presenting a simple object in a more intentional way.

After experimenting with fluid simulations and chaotic movement, I wanted to build something controlled. A product style animation felt like the right direction. The goal was to take a basic object and present it in a way that felt clean, smooth, and visually satisfying.

I modeled the headphones myself and focused on creating a seamless rotational loop that could play continuously.

What I Focused On

Process

I started by modeling a simple set of headphones and placing them in a minimal scene. From there I focused on getting the rotation to feel balanced and steady so the loop would feel natural when repeated.

Lighting quickly became one of the most interesting parts of the process. Small changes in angle and intensity dramatically changed how the materials and reflections appeared on the surface of the headphones.

Once the motion and lighting felt right, I rendered the animation as a seamless loop.

What I Learned

This project reinforced how important presentation is.

Even a simple object can feel premium when motion and lighting work together. Small adjustments to reflections, camera placement, and timing made a huge difference in how polished the final result looked.

It also pushed me toward thinking about animation in terms of product presentation rather than just movement.
